Small Group Bible Studies

Small Groups @ Craigs

Craigs Church has started several new small group Bible studies.  There is almost certainly one that will meet your needs!  Have a look at the details below and plan to join a small group this week!  Small groups are where the best connections happen.  In a small group setting, participants feel more free to ask questions and discuss the subject matter in detail.  You will develop deeper connections with your group members and gain a deeper understanding of the topic you are studying.  Some of the small groups we offer are listed below.  If you have any questions, please feel free to connect with us at the church office and we'll do our best to help you find your fit!

Road to Financial Freedom
Wednesday Nights, 7:00 p.m.

Road to Financial Freedom is a study produced by Crown Financial Concepts and explores the Biblical principles of financial management.  Flowing from the concept that "it all belongs to God anyway" the study will help you get a handle on your finances and focus your entire life on pleasing God.

Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman
Tuesday Nights, 6:30 p.m.

Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman explores God's providence and the hope He offers women facing challenges in our society.  Beth Moore explains how God placed a young Jewish woman who fulfilled her destiny "for such a time as this" and saved the Jews living in pagan culture from certain destruction. Going up against heavyweights bent on her destruction, Esther trusted God and landed a blow that saved her people. The Old Testament story of Esther is a profile in courage and contains many modern parallels for today's woman. Esther's destiny can be yours as you know more deeply the God who is in your corner.  This is a 10-week study - meeting Tuesday nights beginning on September 21st, 6:30-8:00 p.m. each week.

(This group is currently full.  If there are expressions of interest, the Bible study will be offered again at a different time.)

Becoming a Contagious Christian
Friday Nights, 7:00 p.m.

Over one million people have experienced the groundbreaking evangelism training course Becoming a Contagious Christian - a proven resource designed to equip believers for relational evangelism. Now revised and updated, it avoids stereotyped approaches that feel intimidating to many Christians - and to their friends!  Instead, it shows ordinary believers how to share the gospel in natural and effective ways while being the person God made them to be.

Experiencing God
Sunday Nights, 6:30 p.m.

Knowing God does not come through a program, a study, or a method. Knowing God comes through a relationship with a Person. This is an intimate love relationship with God. Through this relationship, God reveals Himself, His purposes, and His ways; and He invites you to join Him where He is already at work.

This is the central thesis of Experiencing God by Henry T. Blackaby and Claude V. King. The authors' emphasis on revelation through personal relationship makes faith sound like a true adventure--leading believers to engage with people and circumstances they might otherwise have avoided. The organization of Experiencing God adds to this effect, proceeding step by step through the various ways a believer's relationship with God is deepened (via the Bible, prayer, and the Church, among others). Although there's strong tension between the self-help tone of this book and its hard-line argument that faith is purely a response to God's initiative, many readers will nevertheless find great encouragement in hearing a still, small voice among a vast number of everyday experiences.

In addition to these small groups, please see our list of Sunday School classes for all ages.

Just a thought...

Bottom PromotionWhat do you think about Jesus? We want to encourage you to think about Jesus. He loves you, and - though innocent - died in your place. The Bible says we have all done wrong and deserve death for rejecting God. Jesus took the death penalty for you and all you have to do is accept his payment and receive his forgiveness. We want to hear your thoughts!
